As America pauses to observe Veterans Day by honoring those who served, there’s a lingering message from the presidential campaign that is worth reiterating:

It’s unpatriotic and wrong for one veteran to denigrate the honorable service of another vet, and especially for no other reason than trying to score political points.

Yet that’s exactly what Vice President-elect JD Vance did to his counterpart, Governor Tim Walz, on the campaign trail. You may remember the media-driven drama.

Walz came under relentless attacks by Vance, a fellow vet, based on his military service.

Walz rose up the ranks in the Minnesota National Guard for 24 years, starting at age 17.
