Donald Trump was elected the 47th President of the United States, western liberalism took some punches, and autocracies around the world thrived, with the major exception of al-Assad losing power in Syria. In short, there was a vast amount of material to write about and discuss here at The Political Prism in 2024.

As noted in our Submission Guidelines, I started the publication to promote a diversity of political viewpoints on Medium. My goal was to create a community of thoughtful writers and readers who engage in good faith and substantive debate on political and legal issues.

In 2024, I think it’s safe to say we achieved that goal. I started the publication with little fanfare in August 2023 as the legal cases against Donald Trump were ramping up. While I mainly published my own stories in the beginning, I experimented with contacting other political writers who appeared to be serious about the craft.

Big shout-outs to some of our earliest writers who gave the publication a chance even when we had almost no followers: Colby Hess, Alexander Ziperovich, and Kristina Etter had some of our earliest and biggest stories. Follow them!
