Watching two right-wing figures fight each other is one of the few pleasures I have left in life. It makes a change from watching the political left tearing itself apart at a moment’s notice. The right generally coalesces behind whoever is the current alpha-political figure and doesn’t stray too far from the party line.

Sure they might mutter a bit in the shadows occasionally, but it takes quite a lot of political ill-will for them to go the full Von Stauffenberg. When they do, it’s normally decisive and deadly. See the quick political defenestration of Margaret Thatcher for more on this.

Truth be told and because I’m outside of the US, I am far more worried about Elon Musk than I am about Trump. The latter may enact policies which affect my life and wellbeing, but nowhere near as much as the US citizens living underneath his Orange sway.

Musk is a different kettle of fishy bastard.

I’m quietly forming the opinion Trump is the Ernst Rohm of the ascendant American right-wing and consider Musk to be a far more malevolent force for political chaos. I have no desire to see the world descend into an oligarchic…
