This is an intriguing video (below) from April of Donald Trump working the crowd during a campaign stop at a Chick-fil-A outlet in Atlanta.

Trump, an experienced social media operator, demonstrates in this video the central role that retail politics plays today in modern campaigning and how crucial it may be in the upcoming U.S. general election.

For those unfamiliar with the term, retail politics describes a form of political campaigning in which politicians interact directly with (potential) supporters during in-person campaign events.

In this Chick-fil-A video, Trump buys a round of milkshakes, apparently for the restaurant’s customers (in the past, he has acted similarly at pizza outlets, as he did more recently at a fire station in New York) while demonstrating a knack for retail politics and self-promotion in the process.
