This is what Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner Pat Wilson is quoted as saying in an official press release.
The year is 2022 and Georgia has just welcomed one of the biggest foreign investments in the state’s history. South Korea’s Hyundai will build a state-of-the-art facility to manufacture batteries, a key link in the electric vehicle (EV) supply chain.
Wilson further specified the impact this will have on the region.
“We could not be more excited welcome the Hyundai Group to Georgia and to celebrate this incredible investment. This state-of-the-art facility will create exciting new possibilities for all Georgians and transform an entire region. Congratulations to everyone who has worked tirelessly to support this project.”
It’s supposed to have generational impact on the state, as remarked by Georgia’s Speaker of the House Jon Burns in 2024.
