Stop Calling Gaza’s Destruction a “Tragedy” – It’s a War Crime

The ongoing destruction within Gaza emerges directly from intentional military attacks which Israel conducts while receiving financial and political backing from America.

President Donald Trump proposed that the United States should “take over” Gaza, suggesting that other countries in the Middle East could be tasked with rebuilding parts of the war-ravaged enclave. He stated, “The U.S. is committed to ‘buying and owning’ Gaza.”

Hamas responded to President Trump’s proposal by calling it a “recipe for generating chaos” and emphasized that the people of Gaza will not allow their displacement.

European Union Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell expressed alarm over reports of an Israeli military offensive on Rafah, stating, “Reports of an Israeli military offensive on Rafah are alarming. It would have catastrophic consequences worsening the already dire humanitarian situation and the unbearable civilian toll.”

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock warned against an Israeli assault on Rafah, stating, “Taking action now in Rafah, the last and most overcrowded place, as announced by the Israeli defence minister, would simply not be justifiable.”
