2020 Bites (literally)

Poetry

Photo by Luis Galvez on Unsplash

I was delivering
Gifts and belongings
To my students
And one of their dogs
(a great fucking dane)
Out of the blue
Attacked me
It was the most terrifying (and painful)
Event of my life
I am lucky
I believe
To be alive and that
There (hopefully) won’t be any
Permanent damage to my
Right arm and back
Where deep puncture wounds
Fatty tissues and blood so much blood oozing out
And they do not stitch animal bites…
