I walk onward, blindly
Into the dark
I’m nervous and scared
Until I see a spark

You light a match
And ignite a flame
You light a candle
And take away my pain

You knew I was lost
And now I am found
If I went deaf
You would help me hear sound

When I trip in the darkness
You get me to my feet
When my legs grow tired
You find me a seat

I hope you know
All of this I’ll return
When it’s you who needs me
I’ll find a candle to burn

Response to the Day 24 prompt of Summer of Spilled Words II.
