Wishing Poem

Wishing the page in front of me was not blank
Hoping that I can flesh out an idea worth reading
Desiring to make a positive difference to someone else’s mood
My fingers tapping at the keys
Backspace, backspace, backspace
No, that’s not it, not yet
Wanting the edited words to be crisp and clear
Coveting the reader feeling what I feel
Longing for respect and recognition
My words begging…
