Day Drunk Philosopher
A poem
The doctor says I should quit
drinking. It’s not so much
a suggestion, as a medical order,
since alcohol exacerbates
the acid reflux that is scarring
my esophagus, enough that
I’ve had trouble swallowing
my food.
