Fall Away

A split second
A moment
Almost
Giving up

Talons dug deep
Into flesh
That felt rotted
A waste

When all you can do
Is not give up
It feels so hard
To do just that

Easier to fall apart
Fall away
From bones
That can no longer stand

All it takes is a moment
A split second
Of giving up
Losing hope

Response to the Day 25 prompt of Summer of Spilled Words II.
