Friendships Sail

a lament

There should be a shrine
to put remnants inside
of people
dead or alive
that faded and stayed
waited and abated
that used and abused
gifted and entrusted
that loved the most fragile of parts
with the most brokenness of hearts
in the creases of my memories
are those friendships
that jumped ship
or swam
and set sail
