So this is it.
Defeat permeates through the air
threatening your last breath,
but you stalemate in a battle of wits.

A series of choices brought you
to crossroad after crossroad.
After awhile you learn not to
be stuck on “if I had known.”

When it comes down to it,
you realize after a time
that you are the silver lining
in the midst of cloudy days.

Pressure to give up haunts your nights
and always gets in the way.
But to be a force to be reckoned with
means always staying on top of it.

There is little reason to be soft
on a hard journey.
To see your true self come alive,
destroy your backup plans.

You are worthy.
