The Endless Circle

I will not pick up this paintbrush
I won’t do it — these bristles will stay firmly on the page
swift, sweeping, cycling through feast and famine
edges speckled and crying for a touch more paint
This paintbrush cannot be pried from my hands
shaking and nervous and waiting for something more
these circles won’t stop, no break in the lines
I will not stop, the circles unending
