An Uncanny Feature in the Portuguese Language and Culture

As a linguist, I strongly subscribe to the idea that language is the primary means to describe the reality surrounding us. As such, words made within a given culture are used to describe it.

Well then, what I most contest in my culture is in something as subtle as the use of certain basic words, which are so simple and basic that they go unnoticed in day-to-day life…
