10 International Social Norms Everyone Should Know
Every Culture Around The Globe Would Appreciate If You Knew How To Behave
There are rules in life that are just common sense. Yet I still, somehow, have the capacity to miss them. Some of them I learned the hard way. Others came equipped with my ‘how-to-life’ package. Either way, I always wished others knew these norms and abided by them.
1. Don’t Talk To People Wearing Headphones
If you see someone you know wearing headphones and they don’t take them out when they see you, just nod and continue with your business. Usually, they are sending a clear message about how uninterested they are in the interaction. There is absolutely no reason to try to talk to them unless they owe you money or their coat is on fire.
2. Inside Jokes Are Only Hilarious To Friends You Share Them With
I know you have a close circle of friends worthy of tv shows and movies. They’re funny, they’re interesting, and they know how to hit the right spot. But guess what, everyone loves their closest circles. Don’t harass people with inside jokes they won’t understand. It’s not cool and you’re not funny.
