There are endless causes for overwhelm: deadlines, responsibilities, overbearing workload, and last-minute preparations.

Without changing our approach or finding a way to deflate the pressure and dismount the task at hand, our progress will stagnate, the stress weighing over us while we attempt to compose our thoughts and process the next logical step.

The world has become a chaotic place with devices constantly buzzing for attention and increasingly demanding workloads. What we’re left with is inattentive minds and little to no time to focus on our emotional and mental health.

But the thing is that wherever we look and whatever we do, we have the power to choose what we focus on. It’s easy to focus on the challenges because it allows us to prepare and adapt. However, our minds tend to follow a domino effect, our thoughts intertwined and chained together.

If we face a traumatic experience, our minds will search for and try to predict similar experiences in the future in order to be prepared.
