Sometimes in life, you will meet awful people.

They will drain your energy and make everyday tasks a hassle. They make you feel bad by being themselves. They might not even realize what pain they inflict on others, but that doesn’t make it any better for you.

They might even be a sociopath.

Healthline defines a sociopath as a person who can’t understand others’ feelings. They’ll often break the rules or make impulsive decisions without feeling guilty for the harm they cause.

They may also use “mind games” to control friends, family members, co-workers, and even strangers. Deceptively, they may also be perceived as charismatic or charming.

My Boss — The Sociopath

My team and I worked as contractors on a big project. The company we worked for hired a project manager in the middle of the production to oversee the process. Unfortunately, she was a sociopath. To her, the humans working for her didn’t matter much. They were building blocks of a bigger structure. Bypassing labor laws didn’t seem to be an issue for her.
