So you’ve graduated college, congrats. Now, the real work begins.

Good news. The right books can help you find more success at work, in your business or with your creative projects. Like many readers, I often find myself browsing the internet or reading the wrong books and articles.

Perhaps during college, you spent weeks slogging through a difficult book because it was on the curriculum. But should you do the same now?

Or maybe your bookshelf is heaving with unread titles. It doesn’t help the apps, tools and products we use every day are fighting in a war for our attention.

Fear not.

Here are eight crucial strategies that will help you get more value from reading:

1. Keep a List of Great Books

I regularly read about other books that sound interesting.

This invariably leads to a “I’d love to read that book, but I have to read this book first” moment.

The next time this happens, consider recording the name of the interesting books in Airtable, a Google Doc or notepad.
