8 Things To Be Mindful Of

I recently realised that I have graduated from high school for almost 10 years. 10 years is a long long time. I thought it would be good to share 8 lessons I have learnt throughout the time.

1. Don’t be arrogant. Be humble.

There are always someone better than you. When others treat you as their leader, don’t take that at face value. Not saying that others will harm you but they might be praising you because you are in power not that you are necessarily better. As time goes by, the junior staffs you worked with could become your senior staffs in the future. So don’t be arrogant. Be humble.

2. Don’t make promises you can’t keep.

Things will bite you back. Don’t try to make excuses for not fulfilling your promises. People will know it. On the other side, actions of your promises would form good habits. People would see that as time goes by.

3. Don’t beg on others easily.

It’s fate that you meet another person. Don’t jeopardize your relationship because you wanted something out of them. Treat others the way you wanted others to treat you.

4. Don’t force it.

We are who we are and there isn’t this strong need to “make things happen.” Keep up your hard work and let time show.

5. Don’t laugh at others.

You gain gratification initially, but the ramifications are not measurable. Be grateful of what you have and the experiences you have in your journey in life. You never know what will happen tomorrow.

6. Don’t get angry too easily.

What’s the point really? It hurts you and it hurts the other person.

7. Don’t jump into conversations.

Respect others when they are talking. Even you might not agree. Listening is a virtue. It is also a sign of maturity.

8. Don’t enclose yourself.

Be open to experience. Don’t trap yourself in your comfort zone because you are too risk conservative. If you don’t try, you never know what it is like.
