8 Ways to Dramatically Improve Your Social Skills
Learn to be socially savvy one small step at a time
All of us could probably use an extra dose of social confidence. Some people have a more difficult time socializing than others. For all of us, the best way to get momentum with developing social skills is to find quick and useful tips we can implement to build more confidence in the future.
Regardless of what you think about your social skills right now, just know that many of these skills are learnable. You can practice your way to a much higher level of confidence, but you have to start somewhere. Try one, or a few of, these tips and see how they work for you.
Never just say ‘good when someone asks ‘how’s it going?’
Instead of just using a default response, have a set of little quips or pithy phrases you can use when someone asks you this common question. I try to come up with a new one every single day.
Today I told someone that “I’m doing the same thing I do every day. Try to take over the world.” It’s a corny little reference to an old T.V. show, but it’s different nonetheless.”
