Exactly one year ago, I was burnt out and ready to change career paths. After dedicating half of my life (17 years) to medicine and seeing my physical health and sanity slowly deteriorate, enough was enough. I had to find something else to fill my time, preferably something just as financially lucrative as dentistry.

But was that even possible? I was ready to become a beginner again, even if it required a massive cut in my income and a very steep learning curve. Long story short, I delved deep into the blogging and content-creating world.

At first, I focused all my efforts into writing on platforms and building my own blog. I’m still on this journey, and I believe that working for myself will eventually pay off generously. But with my funds steadily decreasing, I finally took the plunge and decided to do paid work.

The results that followed were nothing short of amazing. I earned more than $800 in my first month on Upwork by putting in less than 20 hours of work. Let me share what I’ve learned so far.
