How To Improve Every Day And Become The Strongest Version of Yourself

This answer was originally published on Quora by Richard Lee Fulgham

Here are my ten suggestions:

  1. Do NOT drink alcohol.

2. Do NOT take any unprescribed drugs.

3. Read at least five or six pages of quality literature every day.

4. Look at classically great oil paintings for 20m minutes minimum every day. (Your computer is fine for this. Start with Van Gogh, Van der Meer, Goya, Degas, Mondoloni, Monet. )

5. Eat healthy — not much red meat, plenty of fruits & veggies, cut down on the salt & sugar — give up huge juicy burgers, et cetera.

6. Exercise at least a little every day, walk around the block, walk to work or school, have lots of sex if you can.

7. Stop thinking so much about yourself — think about ideas, scientific discoveries, artistic possibilities, even other people.

8. Decide upon, seek out, and GET the best education you can find, or at least need to support yourself.

9. Educate yourself through books, music, and experience.

10. Work at any job that will enable you to be self-reliant. This will bring the respect you need to develop a healthy respect for yourself.
