How to Reframe Failure Into a Tool for Finding Your Passion
Start failing today if you want to achieve your dreams and be successful.
Failure is bad. Our parents, teachers, and coaches taught us how to avoid it while the rest of society conditions us to look down upon it.
With the rise of social media, people are constantly sharing their achievements. An extraordinary talent, unique skill, or professional ability is a regular occurrence on our news feeds.
People start to believe that success is instant, natural, and abundant. We simultaneously tell ourselves we failed at something when we don’t see the same results we find online. When we start to spiral into this negative mindset we must break down what it means to fail.
“Failure is not the opposite of success; it’s part of success.”
— Arianna Huffington
Failure has a negative connotation but the right type of failure is essential to succeed in your work, education, hobbies, and relationships.
Our younger selves understood this concept best. When a toddler falls learning to walk, do they just give up after trying once? Twice? Ten times? Failure is a normal part of growth and it can improve all aspects of life when it is used properly.
