Medium has a new design and people don’t like it..
It’s Tom Kuegler here from LINKEDIN. ;)
What’s up?
So Medium recently announced their redesign, which, let’s be honest, leaves a lot to be desired
At least, that’s what so many people were saying in the comments of their announcement article. Here are a few:
These comments got hundreds and even thousands of claps, meaning they resonated with a ton of people.
Scroll down on that article and read the comments if you want to see what I’m talking about.
I kinda lambasted them myself in a recent article “3 Big Problems Medium Has Right Now”
In other, brighter news, we had our third ever LinkedIn Sprint wrap up this week. There were so many great goodbye-posts on LinkedIn from people who loved the program. Like:
Karen, Julie, Trevor, Glain, Anastasia, Suntonu, Rick, Judy, Ana, Colin, Carmen, Elizabeth, and Rodney.
I also got a lot of positive testimonials in the comments of my day 30 goodbye status.
If that wasn’t enough, check out this video testimonial from Liane Davey, who called it “the best money I’ve ever spent on a development activity” and this testimonial from Kevin Judge, who told me he now has “over 300 topic ideas to write about” thanks to this sprint.
Honestly, the love just keeps pouring in for this program that’s all about LinkedIn.
“Sure Tom, but LinkedIn isn’t for bloggers!”
Actually, it kinda is.
Kit Campboy recently wrote how she loves LinkedIn newsletters:
“The newsletter feature is in a beta format; however, I’ve gained 500 subscribers in one month.
Yep. 500 subscribers in one month.
I’ve been on Substack for a year and have yet to crack 100..”
Guess what, Medium writers? LinkedIn newsletters ARE articles you can share on LinkedIn. And they get GAS!
My newsletter has over 4,000 subscribers since I made it last December and normally my newsletters get over 1,500 views each.
I really don’t know what else to say.
If you want to join us for our next sprint on the 14th of March, you can join us here.
I think it could be a great opportunity, and we make a lot of memes together as a community and generally have a lot of fun..
We have fun. We get views. We like each other.
