In the time of lock-down, modern dating has come to rely heavily on dating apps to forge new connections. The advent of zoom dates has made dating accessible from the comfort of your bedroom without requiring the additional steps of checking if your breath smells bad or telling your friends when you will be home on the off-chance that your date ends up being a serial killer.

With a variety of apps to choose from, the options for dates are endless and overwhelming. Too many potential connections turn into a reciprocated message and the voice in the back of your head saying,

“is this worth the effort?”

As a clinical physician, I spent countless hours every day analyzing data to derive correlations that drive my medical practice. By looking at the logical connections between variables, I can make an informed decision and become more efficient with my time. Perhaps the same approach can be said for dating. Thankfully, OkCupid has done most of the work for us.

The OkCupid dating interface allows the participants to answer questions about themselves. Looking at the data allows us to see how people view traditional gender roles and how racial preference comes into play.
