The FIRE Movement: Early Retirement and 4 Reasons We Aren’t Chasing It

There are 2 things that most of us seem to struggle with in some capacity:

  1. Our Jobs — getting one, keeping one, and balancing work with our lives.
  2. Our Money — Making it, managing it, and growing it.

But what if you could stop worrying about both of these things early on? That’s exactly what the FIRE movement is all about. It’s a framework built to make obligatory work and stress over money a thing of the past by allowing you to retire early and decide what you want to do with your own time for the rest of your life.

What if, rather than working for 45 years to enjoy the last 10–20 (if you’re lucky enough to make it), you could work for 10–20 and enjoy your life for the rest of it?

Imagine if your life became about more than just working to save up for a short period of time when you could finally relax before you die. Imagine a majority of your life instead aimed at living, rather than putting that part off until the end.
