Why “Age Is No Barrier When It Comes To Travel” Is The Worst Advice Of All Time
…read this first!
There’s a lot of shitty advice out there!
We have heard thousands of inspirational quotes; words of wisdom; quotes on life, health, wealth…
Some examples include:
“Moving on” [Easier said than done…]
“Just be you. Always.” [Nah… people won’t want to the unfiltered side of you]
“Everything will be ok.” [Oh… is it?]
But the worse among the pack of shitty advice?
“Age is no barrier when it comes to travel.”
Why?
I’ll use examples to make my point:
You’re young. You’re in tip-top shape. You don’t have bad joints. You can endure walking around cities without it being too taxing on your body. You pass health examinations for adventures like bungee jumps, skydives, helicopter hikes!
Whether you are hiking up Mount Kilimanjaro or sky diving in Hawaii, it’s a lot easier to do adventurous activities, when you travel young.
Another example:
You’re young. You have little responsibilities. You don’t have a family and children. You don’t have a (huge) mortgage and liabilities. You can literally drop everything and go on an adventure of a lifetime.
Travel is supposed to expand your horizons, right? It’s supposed to make you think differently.
YES! That’s precisely what it does — and that’s the reason.
Travel is more than seeing sights and taking selfies. The mixed bags of emotions whilst travelling will make you realise just how the world is both very large and very small. You will become aware of how ignorant your world view was. You will have a newfound respect for man and women and children for their pain and suffering in some countries.
Travel has forced you to care for issues that are bigger than you.
You can read all the books or watch every Youtube videos in the world about the Machu Picchu or the pyramids, but being there is a different story.
Albert Einstein is said to have called “the power of compound interest the most powerful force in the universe.”
Simply put, it’s all about the small choices we make, compounded over time that produces our results.
“Time isn’t the main thing. It’s the only thing.”
-Miles Davis
Start early. Start YOUNG. Don’t let your excuses hold you back from living the life you’ve always wanted. PLEASE. For your sake, JUST GO!
