Why I Dropped Out Of My Dream Uni In 2 Weeks
You (probably) don’t need a degree
My family and I had spent a year preparing for the big move.
I went to the UK for graduate school.
Exactly 1 month after I got onto my flight to London, I landed back in my hometown of Bangalore.
It’s the scariest decision I’ve ever taken.
Skills > degrees
I make a full-time living as a Writer.
I headed to college to learn.
But very quickly into my classes, I realized that what I was being taught was:
- Outdated
- Impractical
- Irrelevant
And this was at one of the best universities in the world.
I didn’t need more than a few classes to see that if you’re in a creative field, a degree is useless.
Not once have I ever been asked for a degree by my ghostwriting clients.
I’m working part-time right now at my dream company. Despite the interview process being highly competitive, they couldn’t have cared less about where I studied or what grades I got.
Skills and experience are way more valuable in 2023 than a degree.
