Hey everyone, it’s Tom Kuegler. :)
At the start of this month, I announced we’d be shutting down the Post-Grad Survival Guide to submissions.. kind of.
I wanted to keep our stable of 20–30 consistent writers on as Editors, and allow them to publish here whenever they wanted.
Hello recent grads. :)
Welcome to Tom’s Online Business guide.
In last week’s newsletter I put out a survey asking you about your Medium statistics.
I wanted to know if people’s stats were up, down, etc.
Let’s get into what I saw, which was really surprising!
“Just punch him, Tom.”
My Dad was telling me to punch a kid who was bullying me.
“You have my permission to punch him.”
I was 7 years old when he told me to do that.
That rocked my world view.
“What if I get in trouble?” I asked.
At 11 AM on a Friday, I felt a ginormous frog in my throat.
Not because I was about to cry, but because I felt an avalanche of pressure crashing down on my head.
Welcome back to my weekly newsletter here at the Post-Grad Survival Guide.
My goal is simple: To help you thrive in your 20’s, not survive. 💪

Four years ago I visited the Philippines for the first time.
It feels like yesterday.
I’ve come to the weird realization recently that I do NOT have all the time in the world. At 21 years old I felt…
It felt like someone was blowing up a balloon right behind my eyebrows.
I get that feeling around 11 AM every day.
At this time I’ve been working for three and a half hours, and I’m starting to feel like death.
Normally, like the OCD fuckface that I am, I…
“I’m waiting for complete global economic carnage so that we can weed out the B and C and D players.”
This quote from Gary Vee’s vlog a few years ago put the fear of God in me.
What’s it mean?
Basically he’s waiting for a global economic meltdown…
“Focus on getting better, not being perfect.”
“Woah Tom, I never thought of that before,” my sister said.
My sister and I were chatting about her Yoga classes.
She’s a brilliant Physician’s Assistant, and teaches Yoga on the side online. We talked about teaching and how difficult it is.
Hey fellow Post-Grads!
It’s Tom Kuegler here. Today is the start of something new for the Post-Grad Survival Guide 🤩. We’re launching a weekly newsletter about how to create an online business for 20-somethings.
Since I started this publication back in 2016, “Entrepreneurship” was always one of the five topics…
