The boy’s singles discipline at the four Grand Slam tournaments this year witnessed as many different players winning the titles. In 2022, it was no different either. In fact, in 2019 — the last year all the four Grand Slams were concluded before a certain virus ensured a change of plans — four different youngsters emerged champions as well.

However, 2018 had indeed witnessed some sort of dominance by a player. That year, Tseng Chun-hsin made it to three Grand Slam finals in the junior category. While Sebastian Korda got the better of him in the Australian Open final, the Taiwanese player managed to win both the French Open and Wimbledon.

That being said, Tseng was nowhere close to joining an elusive club that has had only one member for the last 40 years. There have been quite a few players who have won all four Grand Slams in the men’s singles category. But there is only one name that has managed a career Grand Slam among the juniors — in a single year at that.
