Introduction

The Minnesota Vikings are a professional American football team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member team of the league’s National Football Conference North division.

The Vikings joined the NFL in 1961 as an expansion team. Since their inception, they have compiled an overall record of 324–402–10 with one playoff appearance; they have won two division championships and two conference titles.

Founded in 1960

The Vikings were one of the teams that joined the NFL as part of the AFL–NFL merger. Founded in 1960, they play at U.S. Bank Stadium and have won two Super Bowls (the first being in 1967).

They have made the playoffs 28 times in their 55 seasons. The Vikings play in one of the coldest cities in America, but that doesn’t stop fans from supporting them year after year.
