All amazing athletes, but too predictable for a woman’s list. Or anyone’s list, really. I decided to go a different route.
By now, most of my friends here know I am a big fan of wrestling, baseball, and football. Did you ever wonder where it all began?
Without further ado, a list of my most “admired” athletes — with a twist:
1. Benjamin Franklin “Benny the Jet” Rodriguez
If you want to get your teenage girl into sports, introduce her to Benny Rodriguez. I was 11 when The Sandlot came out, and Benny may be the reason I love baseball so much.
I would’ve done anything to play baseball with him, and maybe even go on a camping trip or two. You know, as friends.
