We broke the UFC 276 Prelims down here…

Now it’s time to tackle the equally-stacked main card where the main event may be the least interesting of the five fights.

[C] Israel Adesanya (22-1) [11-1 UFC] vs #2 Jared Cannonier (15-5) [8-5 UFC]

It speaks to the state of the middleweight division when a fighter with an 8–5 record in the UFC is a title contender.

But to be fair, the division has been cleared out by Adesanya, and Cannonier is the most logical choice in its current state, so he isn’t getting the opportunity over anyone more deserving.

Since entering the UFC at 7-0, Cannonier went 3-4 in his first 7 UFC fights. However, those were at light heavyweight and since dropping down to middleweight, he is 5-1 with the loss coming to the clear №2 of the division behind only Adesanya, Robert Whittaker.
