The Talk of My Many Favorite Seasons

I have already written about my favorite weather season but those aren’t the only types of seasons I get excited about

I’ve already written many stories in the past that my favorite season of the year is Fall (Autumn). Do you know what else gets me excited though? Sports. I’m a year-round sports fan. I love watching all of the major American sports on television. I even keep track of the stats throughout the year with fantasy leagues where I actually get to draft players based on how well I think their stats are going to do against other people who’ve done the same thing.

American football is my favorite sport these days. The NFL (National Football League) is the most profitable sports league in the country and is also more profitable than even many European international football (American soccer) leagues. The majority of the NFL’s sports season is also in my favorite weather season so that’s very convenient.

Other leagues that start their season in the fall are the NBA (National Basketball Association) basketball league, the National Hockey League (NHL), and also when the MLB (Major League Baseball) season concludes along with the postseason and World Series every year. Fall is definitely a major time for sports. Maybe this is another huge reason why the weather season is my favorite season.

It’s definitely been a part of the annual tradition in my house for the better part of my four decades. I love sports so much that I write about them quite a bit, am a top writer on Medium for the topic, and own a sports publication to top it off. I think the takeaway from thinking about this is that fall may be my favorite meteorological season but when it comes down to it, sports season is my ultimate favorite season.

It also gives me plenty to write about when I’ve basically run out of any other ideas to write about. It has given me some major fan moments over the years. The time that my favorite baseball team won back-to-back World Series in 1992 and 1993. The time my hometown Sacramento Kings made the Western Conference Finals against the Lakers in 2002. The time the Chicago Cubs won the World Series in dramatic Game 7 fashion the night I was moving to Chicago from California in 2016.

These moments and many others have always been tied to my very fabric and love of the competition and community around sports. I may not always enjoy the weather, especially as I get older. I just don’t see myself ever falling out of love with sports any time soon. Even though I’m long past my athletic prime to when I was playing sports myself but have now long been physically unable to.

I now watch and root for those who can and do continue to display their peak physical ability. Sports season may be most of the year but in my mind, it’s on every day of my life and I may not be as fervent in following things as I once was, but I always find myself there at the crucial moments to partake in the ultimate celebrations year after year.

The season challenge feels like something I had answered before, Keeley Schroder. I don’t know if it was in one of your challenges this year but I definitely had to change it up so I had a different story to tell this time. I’m always happy to share this and the many other stories that I have with our wonderful community.
