Pearson said: “I was suspended by the Club last week. The speculation in some areas of the media has not made the separation a smooth one, and my suspension period has been difficult for both myself and family.

I can confirm that I have not been made the subject of any disciplinary action.

Although disappointed that my tenure at Derby County has come to an abrupt and premature end, I would like to take the opportunity to thank my colleagues who supported me during my short time at the Club.

I would like to wish the Club and its supporters success moving forward”.

19th October- Alan Stubbes, manager of Rotherham United was sacked after five months in charge.

Rotherham are currently bottom of the Sky Bet Championship with only 6 points out of the 13 games.

We deservedly won the League One title last season. However, we have not managed to carry on that momentum into this season and, after careful consideration over a period of time, I feel that we need to act now in the best long term interests of the club.

‘We thank Gary for all the hard work he has put in and wish him all the best for the future.
