Your Google history can now be released to the police. Based on the terms that you search for, this can and will be used against you without pertaining to context.

Should you be worried? At what point does searching for information equate to guilty of a crime?

Is there anything you can do? Yes, raise concern with your local politicians. Write your Congress representative. There are a slew of new bills that are being drafted which will expand surveillance of the innocent.

Also, use the Tor Browser and search engines like Duck Duck Go. Tor allows one to browse more privately. Alternatives search engines like Duck Duck Go do not actively try to link searches to a particular person.
