MO State Senate candidate Hillary Shields is AWESOME!

The Progressive Midwesterner endorses Shields in the 8th State Senate District of Missouri special election

I, Aaron Camp, author of The Progressive Midwesterner, proudly endorse paralegal and political activist Hillary Shields in the upcoming special election in the 8th State Senate District of Missouri. The 8th Missouri State Senate district (see the “Kansas City Area” inset of this map) is based in the Kansas City suburbs and includes portions of east-central and southeastern Jackson County, Missouri.

In a world of dedicated progressive political activists that have come onto the scene in the Trump era, Shields is one of the most dedicated of them all. Shields is the co-founder of the Kansas City chapter of the anti-Trump resistance group Indivisible. As an Indivisible activist, Shields has been a leader in the effort to stop Republicans from taking health insurance away from those in Missouri and across America who need it. On the issues, the issues page of Shields’s website contains less than 100 words, but it’s easy to understand that she’s solidly progressive on issues like health care, public education, the minimum wage, and workers’ rights.
