The very short story behind The Projects Project
The Projects Project is inspired by a hope and a frustration.
I consider myself a member of two high school communities. United World College in Singapore, and the British School in Jakarta. Both communities contain people doing remarkable things and both communities can help each other achieve remarkable things. Wouldn’t it be useful to have a place where people from both communities can share and discuss their projects? Wouldn’t it be awesome if there was a place where dreamers could learn from each other no matter what school they attend or where they live? That’s the hope.
Here’s the frustration — our media feeds are saturated by trivial things that distract us from the true state of the world. Does it really matter who’s wearing what shoe? There are a lot more important and interesting things to share and The Projects Project is our bid to share just that.
So, here’s to what Peter Thiel terms definite optimism — constructing a better future through smart and deliberate actions a.k.a. projects. Start sharing!
