Seraphina, The Dragon Who Couldn’t Breathe Fire
A differently abled dragon
Tyson, Seraphina’s younger brother followed behind her. He was a very curious dragonet and wanted to know where she had been going every day.
He hid and watched as she gathered her breath for the hundredth time, trumpeted out her mouth with a great whoosh, but nothing happened, not even a spark.
“I’ll never get it right. I’m the only one who can’t do it.” And she collapsed in a scaley heap, head bowed.
Just then there was a commotion outside the cave and she heard a pack of wolves growling. She went to see what was causing the alarm.
They had her brother trapped. She bounded in front of him in defiance of the wolves.
“You just try it you little fiends and we will have you for supper!”
They circled around howling and gnashing their teeth but didn’t appear to be leaving.
“Well, little ones. I think you are no threat,” hissed the leader of the wolf pack.
And with that, they launched an attack, all five of them against Seraphina. With one huge breath, she raised her head and blasted them, flame pouring out like a fountain. The wolves fled — fur-singed and tails between their legs.
