Scrolling through Facebook a while ago, I came across a post from a friend who was going through a rough time. it made my heart ache to realize that people around her were making her life harder instead of supporting her. And it was all over a post where she expressed a need she had, whose fulfillment would help provide a momentary respite from the difficulties she is facing.

Reading her eloquent response made me realize something else. Anyone who ever thought that women were the ‘weaker sex’ are self-deluded.

I would like to think that what she experienced was an isolated event. Unfortunately, it’s not.

This is what she wrote:

Wanna Wrestle? #TouchStarved #NoCisDudes

She is a dyke. She crosses boundaries, traveling with ease in both the men’s community and the women’s community. As such, she has developed a following of gay men who are interested in playing with her.

Having been in a similar situation to her, I appreciate her statement, and the desire behind it. It was a simple expression of need for touch. When that need arises, it can only be fulfilled by a certain type of person. So, I wasn’t surprised when she specified no cisdudes, she is a lesbian after all.
