I once had a fall from grace in Iceland, the supermarket. It is like Costco, but mainly frozen stuff. It was October when I put a full trolley of cheap food and tricker treat sweets through the check-out and then found I had no money. The customers behind me got cross because the cashier had to call a supervisor to deal with the till and she took ages to come. She was probably listening to Graceland. Then they took my trolley off me. I’m off my trolley trying to compete in this challenge against the likes of Smillew. Sigh.

The prompt was:

a 100-word story about october. tricker treat. fall. falling from grace. graceland. . . iceland.

I came, I wrote, I conquered. That last bit might not be true, but at least I am putting up a good fight.
