New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day provide the opportunity to approach the future with hope, optimism, and maybe a few resolutions!

At Square & Compass Promotions, our resolutions mostly concern Freemasonry (as do most of the things we write about).

Our resolutions do not exclusively concern Freemasonry; outside interests are essential to avoid Masonic burnout.

See below for several of our 2025 resolutions.

[If you have any resolutions, please let us know]

Travel

Travel (including visitation) is an incredibly important part of the Masonic experience.

It is also an incredibly important part of life.

As Anthony Bourdain stated:

  • “If I’m an advocate for anything, it’s to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. Across the ocean, or simply across the river. The extent to which you can walk in someone else’s shoes or at least eat their food [or sit in their lodge], it’s a plus for everybody.

Square & Compass travelled to many amazing places in 2024 (and 2023, and 2022). We hope to travel to even more amazing places in 2025…and on these travels learn about Freemasonry around the world.

Our Masonic travels have, thus far, taken us to Masonic jurisdictions within North America (at least in-person, we have been lucky enough to virtually visit with several Brethren overseas).

In 2025, we resolve to continue our Masonic travels (and report on these travels) and finally travel to masonic jurisdictions across the world.

In 2025, we also resolve to allow our audience to learn more about these global masonic jurisdictions by producing content with representatives of these jurisdictions.

Make sure to follow Square & Compass Promotions on our social media to find this content.

Growing the Our Audience

In 2025, we resolve to grow our audience on our various platforms, including YouTube, Medium, and our social media platforms.

To make this resolution a reality, we need our current audience’s help.

  • Let us know what you want to see from Square & Compass Promotions in 2025. This could include topics you want to see us discuss, guests you want us to interview, mediums on which you want us to create, or any other ideas you may have!

Modifying Solutions

  • “Edison did not look for problems in need of solutions; he looked for solutions in need of modification.’” — Pete Sena, quoting the New Yorker in MVP is over.

In 2025, we resolve to (both in Freemasonry and life) stop looking for brand-new solutions and instead to look for the solutions Freemasons already that may not be working as well as they could and determine what modifications are necessary.

Research

In 2025, we resolve to perform more research for and related to Freemasonry, and to bring the contents and results of this research to our audience via new and exciting content

Professional Wrestling

In 2025, we resolve to spend more time focusing on our secondary passion: professional wrestling.

In 2025, we resolve to have our first singles match and to participate in professional wrestling in capacities aside from being a referee (while continuing to hone that skill).

Lights, Camera, Action

In 2025, we resolve to get our masonic movie ideas in front of the types of people who may actually be able to get a movie idea into script form (and perhaps more).

Other Masonic Endeavours

In 2025, we also resolve to continue focusing on our other masonic duties and responsibilities, including continuing to work for and with Border Cities Lodge №554.

In 2025, we also resolve to continue our lobbying efforts regarding our Grand Lodge’s Annual Communication and bringing said communication to Essex County District.

Being Perfect

Mostly, in 2025, we resolve to be perfect.

Masonic perfection isn’t about delivering perfect ritual; it isn’t about getting it “right” every-time (or even most of the time).

Masonic perfection isn’t about a masonic career without mistakes.

Masonic perfection is about a Mason’s relationship with himself, his brothers, and his lodge.

It’s about the ability for a Mason to look his brothers in the eye, and know that he didn’t let them down.

That he gave as much as he could to make his Lodge a success.

That he gave as much as he could to make Freemasonry a success.

That there wasn’t one more thing he could’ve done for his Lodge in particular or Freemasonry in general.

If a Mason can do that, with clear eyes and love in his heart: with joy in his heart; he is perfect.

All opinions expressed are those of Square & Compass Promotions and the guest(s), and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the Windsor Masonic Temple and/or any other Masonic group!
