By August time each year, there would typically be about 16.4m square kilometers of Antarctic sea ice. But this week, there was just 14.1m sq km. An area greater than Mexico still needs to freeze. As climate change starts to cause chaos worldwide, many are growing worried about the implications of our destructive actions.

“It lies far beyond our comprehension of this system’s behaviour, and the implications are dire for the entire planet.”

Satellite shows a shocking result as 5.4 million square miles of ice refroze. This number may seem large, yet it falls 0.9 million square miles short of predicted levels. Showing signs that climate change is rapidly changing as we refuse to adjust our destructive ways.
