Hold on just a second. Are you really going to let those blue pens just sit there next to the black ones? You’ll need at least 47 minutes to alphabetize your writing utensils, curate the perfect playlist, and arrange those Post-it notes to make a perfect spiral reaching all the way to the ground.

Welcome to the Olympic sport of Almost-Writing. The blank page looks on in awe as you expertly perform your perfect tab-switching routine, thoroughly impressed by your commitment to literally do anything except write.

But what if, instead of battling distractions in isolation, you had someone by your side? Someone with the same ambition — to write, to focus, to keep putting meaningful words on the page.

Ever since I launched Koala Quill, I’ve been thrilled to see the positive impact of a community built on mutual accountability. But oftentimes, I’ve found the hardest part isn’t necessarily writing. It’s the isolating feeling of trying to get started. Alone.

That’s why I’m excited to introduce Quillmates, virtual writing partners who transform the solitary act of writing into a shared journey. Now, when one of you inevitably has an existential crisis…
