Public is now live in the United Kingdom
Expanding access to US-listed equities with advanced data, tools, and context for UK investors.
We’re thrilled to announce that Public is now live in the UK, our first international market. This news has been years in the making and a continuation of our work to make more assets available to more investors around the world.
Our goal is to be the best place to invest in US equities, with a broad universe of investable assets, advanced tools and research to help members make investment decisions, and a transparent and fair fee structure that’s aligned with our members.
If you’re in the UK, you can now buy and sell over 5,000 US-listed stocks on the Public platform. Unlike many other brokerages, we don’t charge foreign exchange fees every time you make a trade. Instead, we charge a low fee to convert your currency when you make a deposit or withdraw cash. Fewer fees mean your money goes further. With real-time price alerts and breaking news, you can access the info you may need to make smart investing decisions. Plus, you’ll join an active community of investors, including research analysts and company executives.
Public in the United Kingdom
Choosing the UK as our first international market was a very intentional decision. We saw an opportunity to bring our technology to a community of investors who share our passion for the markets and are looking for a more modern way to build their portfolio. Like our US members, UK members will be able to explore thousands of assets with the insights they may need to make better informed investment decisions. That includes:
5,000+ US-based equities
Buy and sell thousands of US-listed equities — from blue-chip companies to big tech, dividend stocks, and much more. Unlike some other brokerages, our entire directory of stocks can be accessed without a subscription fee.
Commission-free trading
We don’t charge commissions for trading US-listed stocks during regular market hours, and there are no account minimums.
Low FX fees
As a member, you can convert GBP to USD when you deposit funds into the app — rather than on every individual trade — which can result in fewer FX transactions and lower fees.**
Advanced data, insights, and earnings calls
We deliver key metrics and analysis on every stock on our platform. Plus, you can access up to three years’ worth of earnings calls, decks, and reports — all within the Public app. Many data analysis tools — such as the ability to compare equities side by side — are available to all members, while others such as Morningstar research are available to members who subscribe to Public Premium, our paid subscription tier.
Extended-hours trading
You can place commission-free trades from 2:30 PM to 9 PM GMT. Plus, you can access pre-market trading from 1 PM to 2:30 PM GMT and after-hours trading from 9 PM to 1 AM GMT, excluding market holidays.**

We’re onboarding new members now
Starting today, we’ll be accepting new members on a rolling basis. In case of high demand, you may have to wait a few days to receive full access to the app. This is to help ensure that everyone’s first experience with Public is as seamless as it can be.
