About the Writers

The writers behind The Public Ear are a group of students from the Queensland University of Technology, Australia. Based in Brisbane, at present we are undertaking a unit named Making Media Connections, and The Public Ear is our latest assignment. This publication is all about discussing relevant themes and issues in society and how they relate to or are evidenced in the media.

Our writer demographic is formed mostly by millennials. And just like the results of the 2019 Deloitte Millennial Survey, we value openness, acceptance, and are passionate about good writing. But ultimately, we are a mixed bunch who wish to diversify the realm of online publications. As students, we have developed our creative and academic writing skills over years of study. We are a not for profit; we write independently of Medium and any other organization, and do not produce advertisements or gain income from our page.

While there are countless online journalism outlets and publications, The Public Ear produces content that is a little more controversial, untapped, and we hope, engaging. We first published in May 2019, and we are proud to say we have now produced over 50 articles. As we continue to grow, we aim to remain champions of our own motto; that is dedicated to growth, progressiveness, and inclusivity!
