New Network Technology = New World?
Imagine what network technology people will be using after ten years? 6G or 7G network technology? Social media platforms can be shown up through the VR and AR technology? The answer to those doubts, the future technology will tell, as well as develop a better networking environment for the world. Also, a transformation of network technology will set up the development of society, and supportive and strong network technology is essential to afford the demand of a fast-paced society, such as faster data speed, higher capacity of data transfers.
What is 5G network?
Living in 2019, when people are getting used to exploring the internet through 4G technology, a new generation of broadband cellular network technology is coming around the corner. 5G, modern people will not be strange with this term as it will be the fifth generation of network technology with a strong network-connect, and the advantage of the low latency of data speed. Although the current 4G network has rapid data speed, the 5G network has improved on the radio technology in the aspects of network connection, such as increased allocations of radio spectrum, so that the 5G technology will develop a higher peak connection speeds to prevent the network latency, and will reduce the rate of network latency. Simply, people can use a higher data speed to afford the networking needs, and social media will provide more rooms for users interactions and development, so the users can use more advanced functions through the 5G technology. For example, with the ultra-fast data speed and higher capacity of data transferring of 5G technology, VR and AR technology can be applied to the daily use of social media.
With the advantages of higher data speed and bigger capacity of data transferring, the 5G technology can support the massive data transferring in a short time, for example, by comparing the speed of the network, a 120 minutes movie can be download within 4 seconds under the 5G connection. But, for the 4G network, it takes about 6 minutes to complete the installation of the movie. Therefore, the gap between 4G and 5G network is likely the difference between a Ferrari and a truck.
A Gift for Social Media?
Does 5G technology change the culture of social media? Definitely yes. Since 2014, Facebook alerted to the development of 5G technology, so that Facebook decided to acquire a virtual reality technology company (Oculus) with the amounts of 2 billion dollars. What makes Mark Zuckerberg use those amounts of money to acquire Oculus? It is because of the VR technology of Oculus itself, Mark Zuckerberg would like to use the advantages of 5G technology and the development of VR technology to develop more VR games on Facebook, and gradually transfer the whole social media platform into a virtual reality platform.
At the test stage of VR social networking, Facebook established a beta version of VR social networking, which is called as “Facebook Spaces”. However, this beta version can be used on only two VR devices, which are Oculus Rift and HTC VIVE. Also, “Facebook Spaces” truly showing what actual look of VR social networking, and connecting with friends through the VR technology, instead of meeting up on the street. Although it is a beta version, it will be soon to release this new technology on the aspects of social media. Moreover, another reason of buying a VR company is that the use and culture of social networking will change over, and the generation of VR social networking is the next big step of the development of social networking.
In conclusion, the 5G network technology brought lots of advantages on improving networking across the world, and social media platforms will be transformed from screen-display to virtual reality. Also, the whole pace of society will be increased due to the incredible speed of data transfer, and the data can be transfer and read within a second which helps a lot towards those financial organisations.
