A Rebel With(out) a Clue: Men’s A/W ‘17 Trends
Fashion and nostalgia go hand-in-hand. Am I right? If you’re reading this, we are guessing you have lived enough to see the rinse and repeat of trends. In many ways, that is what makes fashion exciting; to see how the new generation will modify a trend dated back decades. Then, there are also times when trend forecasts are relatable to current events. It is in the hands of those ‘daring’ enough to explore the unlimited opportunities fashion has to offer your personal style. Here are our favorite trends this season:
Seventies
The decade known as the peace & love era…what better time than now to channel the 70’s? There’s not much to it besides, furs, cardigans, muted tones, mixed with good vibes and good tunes. Check out one of our favorite collections, inspired by the seventies, from Prada.
Rock on
We’re really going to need to see some effort put in with this trend- or just don’t do it. No true rocker would half ass it. Full, matching, fitted suits, with added accessories is low key the way into our hearts. We’re definitely here for these looks.
Orange Crush
We mentioned in our women’s trends story that the color of the season is red; that goes for men, too. Another color on the spectrum that you need to embrace this season is orange.
Statement Pieces
You may remember us featuring garments with statements in our Spring forecast story. I think it is safe to say that this trend will not be going anywhere, anytime soon. You have something to say, take it a step further and wear it.
Neck to Neck
Functionality in fashion is always a bonus. So when we see any kind of turtleneck still on the runway, combined with the predicted winter in the horizon, we want you to be thankful it’s acceptable to go there this season.
Business Attire
From pleated pants, to ties, to oversized wool jackets…we mean business. But don’t worry- in comparison to the Rocker trend, there are no guidelines. Mixing biz trends with other A/W trends is how you will get the look down. Our favorite mixed fits below.
Always be inspired. History repeats itself and sometimes we are so happy it does. But as the late Tom Petty once sang, “the future is wide open.”
