Autumn, especially in poetry, has often been associated with mortality and melancholy. The possibilities of summer are gone, and the chill of winter is on the horizon. Days grow shorter and the nights longer. Skies turn grey and the amount of usable daylight drops rapidly… this is when many people turn inward, both physically and mentally.

This is the time of year when, ironically, we find ourselves the most inspired. The changing of seasons have a strong affect on individuals and sometimes it will steer your creativity into a space that has limited access. Beauty lies in the season of change; this is why Autumn can be said to be most artists favorite time of year.

Inspired by the etymology of Autumn and the life of artist, Yayoi Kusama, we picked our favorite trends for the season and used vintage garments from Japan to create AKI.
